Robert L. Smith

Robert L. Smith, age 85, of Pompton Lakes, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Mr. Smith was born in Kinnelon, NJ, the son of the late Joseph and the late Amy (Crum) Smith. He served in the Navy during World War II, was the Maintenance Supervisor at St Mary's RC Church Pompton Lakes, NJ, for 35 years, and was a member of Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his beloved children, Joseph Smith, Rosemary Schryver and husband Martin, Gerald Smith, and Maryann Labdon and husband Thomas, a loving sister Moya Shannon, cherished grandchildren, Karen, Martin, Chelsea and Emily and one adored great grandchild Avary. Also surviving are many dear nieces and nephews. Robert was pre deceased in life by his devoted wife Shirley. Viewing hours will be Thursday, April 29, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, 12:00pm at St. Mary's RC Church, Pompton Lakes, NJ. The final disposition will be held in private.
