Robert N Rugel

Robert Nickolas Rugel, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2020, he was 74 years old. Robert was born in New Brunswick, NJ on August 29, 1945, to the late Franz and Rose (Ricca) Rugel. He moved to Paterson N.J. at an early age and lived there before moving to Butler in 1974. Robert served in the Navy during the Vietnam era, and was a former member of Paterson War Veterans Club. He worked for United States Postal Service as a letter carrier and then supervisor for Station Branch Operator until he retired in 1992; he then worked for Estee Lauder Company in Oakland, NJ for 10 years. Robert was a member of American Legion Post 154, a former Scout Master in Paterson and Butler, and was a volunteer fire fighter for 7 years in the Kinney Hose Company, Butler, NJ. Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Rose M. Rugel, loving children, Deborah Rugel Webber and her husband Mark, Robert C. Rugel and his wife Melissa and Renee Rose Rugel and five adored grandchildren, William and Thor Webber, Jack Dylan Rugel and Lauran and Joseph Hoarle. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be celebrated at a later date.
