Robert "Bob" V. Williams, 86, of Riverdale and Butler, passed away on July 27, 2017. He was born in Riverdale, NJ, the son of the late John and Pauline Williams. Bob served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Alaska. Bob was a semi-pro football and baseball player, playing for the Franklin Miners, the DuPont Bears, and the Allentown Copperheads just to mention a few. Bob was known to be a great pitcher and was fortunate enough to have learned how to throw a curve ball from Babe Ruth. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Gallo Brothers in Riverdale. He always had a joke to tell, loved to be with people and play golf. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Susan Guenter and husband Bruce, Lisa Beasley and husband Ralph, Diane Levy and husband Brad and Marianne Fanning, eight cherished grandchildren, Louis, Danny, Alexis, Beatrice, Samuel, Derek, Jason and Brett and one adored great-grandchild, Charlotte. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his devoted wife, Jean and adored son Robbie. Visiting on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 10am to 12:00 PM at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon also on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial to immediately follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery.
