Rose Portman

Rose Portman, age 98, of Butler, formerly of West Milford, died Sunday, May 13, 2012. Mrs. Portman was born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late James and the late Ellen (O'Donnell) Slavin. She worked at Chilton Memorial Hospital as a cook for 25 years before retiring. Rose was a parishioner and member of St. Anthony's Columbettes and volunteered as a greeter at the Butler Nutrition Center. She is survived by her beloved children, Joseph, Edward and wife Cari and daughter in law Kathy Portman, her loving siblings, Charlie Slavin and wife Mary and Marie Coulter, five cherished grandchildren and six adored great grandchildren. Rose was predeceased by her devoted husband Joseph and her dear son Robert "Bob". Viewing hours will be Tuesday, May 15th ,2012 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday 10:00am at St. Anthony RC Church, Butler. Burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Milford, NJ.
