Sadie Gagliardi

Sadie Gagliardi, 91, of Kinnelon, NJ passed away peacefully in Jupiter, Fl surrounded by family on April 19, 2022. She is survived by her sister, Ann Rocco, daughters, Donna Gnad of Kinnelon, NJ and Maria (Harold Doherty), of Jupiter, FL, and her grandchildren, Matthew Gnad, Kevin Gnad, Brian Gnad and Julia Doherty. She was predeceased by her parents, Maria Vadali and Guisuppe Pizzuto, her sister, Tina Cuoco, her brother John Pizzuto, her husband, Joseph, and their son Anthony. Sadie was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 12, 1930. It was in Brooklyn that she met her future husband of 64 years, Joe Gagliardi, when he returned from his service in the Korean War. Soon after their marriage, Sadie and Joe moved to Kinnelon, NJ where they raised their three children Donna, Maria, and Anthony. Joe and Sadie enjoyed summers at their home in Seaside Park, and after retirement their winters in Jupiter, FL, where they always had family nearby. Sadie was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She read the paper each day to stay informed of current events and never missed playing sudoku. She had a love for cooking, baking and gardening. She always traveled with her personal cookbook to prepare the many delicious meals which she shared with her family. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua where she regularly attended Mass. She made a tradition of having dinner after Mass with Joe and his sister, Ann Coletti. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ A Mass celebrating Sadie and Joes life will be offered on Friday, April 29th at 10 a.m. followed by a burial for Sadie and Joe at Mt. Calvery Cemetery, Butler. Joes burial was postponed as a result of COVID-19.
