Santia Miranda

Santia Miranda, 86, of Haskell, NJ, formerly of Ponce, PR and Bronx, NY died peacefully on December 8, 2016. Born May 22, 1930 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she is predeceased by her parents, Ramon and Maria (Santana) Torres, brothers Ramon and Pedro Torres; sisters Julia and Narcisa; and husband Bernardino Miranda. Santia received her nursing degree in Puerto Rico and worked as a nurse for over 40 years throughout the city of New York. She was also a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her three children, Bernardo Miranda and partner Josephine Lazatin of Queens, NY; Miriam Saillant of Morristown, NJ; Lourdes Miranda and husband Robert Santiago of Riverdale, NJ; 2 loving grandchildren Lourdes Saillant and husband Dan Amatuzzi of Washington Heights, NY and Daniel Saillant of Morristown, NJ; one great grandchild Alessandra Amatuzzi of Washington Heights, NY; and one niece Carmin Fratticelli and husband Napoleon. Family and friends will gather at on December 11th for a period of visitation for Santia from 4 -6:30 at Morrison Funeral Home 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ with a memorial service immediately thereafter.
