Shirley Mainiero

Shirley Mainiero age 75, passed away on June 24th, 2010. Shirley was born in Newark, NJ and spent her childhood growing up in Nutley. In 1969 she and her family moved to Kinnelon and ulitmately Shirley moved to Butler in 2001, where she resided until her passing. Shirley was an employee of Kinnelon Public Library for the last 13 years. She leaves behind 2 brothers, Sal & Jimmy, four children and their spouses Cherylnn, Louis & Tammy, Janice& Michael, Lenny & Anisa and her 14 grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lucy and her devoted husband and longtime love Leonard, who past away in 1987. Although forever heartbroken over the loss of her husband, Shirley made every effort to live life each day. She truly celebrated the company of her children and grandchildren during the many holidays together. Her days were filled with the company of close friends from her condo complex and she thoroughly enjoyed her days at work where she was surrounded by many of the people she had come to know and love over the years.Anyone that knew Shirley, loved her. She had a sincere and open heart that embraced everyone she met. She will be forever missed. Viewing hours will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday 11am also at the funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest cemetery, Butler,NJ. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make any donations to the "Friends of the Library" in Kinnelon or the Kinnelon Food Pantry at the Municipal Building Complex.
