Siegfried T. Kirchhoff, of Clifton Park, NY, formerly of Bloomingdale, NJ passed away surrounded by his family on February 27, 2022. Born in Ogrosen, Germany he came to the United States with his mother, brother and sister arriving in NYC, which posed challenges, adjustments and responsibilities, all of which were handled with perseverance even though not easy. From 1963-1965 Siegfried served in the US Army, stationed in a few places throughout the US. He was lucky enough to be discharged before being deployed to Vietnam. Cars were his lifes passion! From Westhampton Long Island drag strip racing and the trophies to prove it, to a 40-year strong career at General Motors Buick Division. Starting as an auto mechanic and eventually promoted to Zone Operations Manager and later to District Manager, he worked in the automotive industry at a time when names like Lee Iacocca, DeLorean and Ford took center stage. Business trips to Detroit and Flint Michigan, driving new Buick cars, working the NY auto show, working in NYC Circle Buick and later transferring to Clifton, NJ, Purchase, NY and upstate Albany, NY, he loved it all! It was not unusual to find Siegfried up at 6am when car races were broadcasted on TV, Formula One (F1), NASCAR and the Indy 500. He was a big fan of Bundesliga soccer, FC Bayern and a few others. He played soccer as a young man in the NYC soccer clubs, breaking his nose, which upset his mother. He was a good father, organized and at times strict, only wanting to teach you a life lesson. He remained steadfast and strong for his family, during a dark time when his daughter Nicole became very sick and passed. Siegfried enjoyed traveling with his wife Ingrid and their daughter Michele, to Vermont, the Adirondacks Lake house, Europe with most visits to Germany to visit family and camping trips; watching car racing, soccer and football games. Days when the family would drive from NJ to Manhattan to pick up his mom, visit the aunts in the Bronx, drive to Yorktown Heights to visit Lou, Mabel, Anna, Joe and family. These were great times and memories. We are all proud of you and your accomplishments and will surely miss you! Prosit mein Vater.
