Stephen M. Silversey, 85, of Butler, passed away on July 2, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Brunswick NJ, the son of the late Stephen J. and Eleanor Silversey . Stephen was a parishioner of St. Anthony's RC Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council, both in Butler. He was a former coach in the Tri-Borough Little League, a member of the Wallkill Golf Club in Franklin NJ, proud owner of three hole in ones, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was the owner and operator of Riel Auto body in Riverdale, NJ. As a parishioner of St. Anthony's, he was awarded the St. Francis award for 50 years of service to St. Anthony's RC Church in Butler. He is survived by his devoted wife, of 61 loving years, Loretta Silversey , his beloved children, Noel Silversey-Gould, Lynn Phillips, Steven and wife Anne, Joseph and David and wife Katie. Also surviving or his 12 cherished grandchildren and three adored great-grandchildren. Viewing hours will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 4 PM to 8 PM at St. Anthony's RC Church 65 Bartholdi Ave. Butler NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered Thursday, 10:30 AM, also at the church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson NJ. May he forever dance and sing above us. All arrangements were entrusted to the Morrison Funeral Home Butler, NJ.
