Steven Robert Esteves, age 43, of Jersey City, died unexpectedly in his home. He was born in Bogota, Colombia on July 9, 1978, and brought home to Bloomingdale, NJ. Steven graduated from Eastern Christian High School in North Haledon in 1996 where he was involved in musical theater. Set on living in the city, he moved back and forth a few times the years thereafter before settling into his Jersey City residency. He worked in insurance for 25 years, but his first love was music. He was fairly self-taught in piano, gifted in creative song writing, loved to dance and had an artistic soul. Steven had a wicked sense of humor, with smarts and sarcasm that could leave you speechless or in stitches. He loved pizza and chicken parm. But above all, he loved fiercely and passionately - his family and his friends. He was always their staunchest supporter and advocate. He had a beautiful smile and often a potty mouth. He spoke fast and lived fast. We just wish we could have slowed time down to enjoy more of it with him. Steven is survived by his mother, Pamela Esteves of Bloomingdale, his brother, David Esteves of Parsippany, and his sister, Sarah Galus (husband, Pete) of Kinnelon. He leaves behind loving aunts Gloria Esteves of Sleepy Hollow, NY and Linda Neilson of Elizaville, NY as well as uncles Richard Esteves (FL) and Gunnar Neilson (CT). Hell be terribly missed by his nephews David Esteves Jr., Andrew, Owen and Emmett Galus and niece, Sydney Esteves as well as godson, Benjamin Ziccardi. Add to the list his cousins and countless adoring friends. Steven was predeceased by his father, Robert, grandparents Teresa & Serafin Esteves and Martha & Gunnar Neilson.
