Sue Jean Nutt

June 24, 1948 — June 21, 2024

Our dear mother, Sue Jean Nutt  (Meier) 75, of Pequannock, NJ succumbed to her battle with cancer on June 21, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Minetta Meier. She graduated from Butler High School in 1966.  She resided in Butler for most of her life. Mom would have been 76 on June 24.

We best describe her as someone who had a tenacious zest for living and enjoying life - with traveling being at the top of her favorite things to do.  She fondly remembered her many trips with loved ones to many places in Europe, cruises to the many islands near and far, many places within the states, and lots of family vacations “down the shore.” In her final days, she expressed her happiness that she was able to do and see so much.

In her life, she first married Greg Post whom she loved dearly.  Then later, reconnected with her first love, Lee Nutt.  She spent most of her working career as a mortgage processor, then as an operations manager for various banks.  Being a grandmother was probably the role she cherished most.  From the moment she found out she was becoming a grandmother, her grandchildren brought her so much joy.

We will forever remember mom’s love of holidays, with Christmas being at the top of the list.  She always found great joy providing her loved ones with gifts.  She was particularly excited to shower her grandchildren with gifts and always wanted them to enjoy the holiday. Toy Hess Trucks will always remind us of Christmas at Mom’s, with her grandkids climbing over one another to get them out of the closet. In addition to always having the perfect tree, mom would also make sure we had her special lasagna, which was “the best.

Mom was loved and surrounded by friends and family in her final days. She is survived by siblings: Minetta Mabey, Patty Rafferty, Carol Meier, and Kate Meier; children: Ted Brincka and his wife Heidi Brincka, Brad Post and his wife Christine Post, Kyle Post and his partner Amy Devoe, and Jody Rabtzow and her husband Mark Rabtzow; and grandchildren: Michael, Ash & Heather Brincka, Matthew & Mason Rabtzow, Jenna & Nicolas Post, and Samantha & Tyler Post and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband,  Lee R. Nutt and her two brothers Barry and Timothy Meier.

We are thankful that mom is now at peace and happy, with her love, her partner, her husband Lee. We pray to the Lord for eternal rest unto thy departed servant Sue Jean and make her memory to be eternal!

Mom was “The Best!”
