Susan Clayton

Susan Clayton, age 68, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020. Sue was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Flora Mae (Miller) Van Orden. Sue was a lifelong resident of northern, NJ. She was a graduate of Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts in Illustration, and was very talented with graphic design and fine arts. She worked as a seamstress at Prime Dress Designs in Augusta, NJ specializing in making Irish dance dresses. Sue had a strong love of God and family, and she was a member of the Frankford Plains United Methodist Church. Sue enjoyed artwork, crafts, sewing, collecting squirrel and bird knick knacks, and loved traveling to New Hampshire. Sue was most happy helping other people, and was very generous with her time and her talents. Susan is survived by her loving longtime companion, Stuart Vreeland, her beloved children, Nadine Varga and her husband Robert of Nixa, MO, William Clayton and his wife Linh of Ventura, CA, Amy Dennis and her husband David of Vernon, NJ and Robert Clayton and his wife Danielle of Vernon, NJ, sister, Diane Mathews and her husband Warren and ten beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ian, Nicole, Lauren, Lillian, Jacob, Joshua, Alyssa, Jennifer and Kaylee. Susan was predeceased by her parents, Gilbert and Flora Van Orden. Visitation will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be offered on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 1:00pm also at the funeral home. Final disposition will be private.
