Sylvester Paul 'Pete' Shenise

Sylvester Paul "Pete" Shenise, age 90 of West Milford, formerly of Butler, died Saturday, February 22, 2014. He was son of the late Sylvester and the late Aleatha (Crum) Shenise. Mr. Shenise was a teacher in the Pompton Lakes School District. He served in the Army during WWII, was a past Post Commander of VFW Post 6765 in Wanaque, a retired member of the N.J. Education Association and National Education Association and the Pompton Lakes Alumni. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Shenise, a beloved daughter, Barbara Sandor and husband Michael, two cherished grandchildren, Malley Sandor and Joshua Sandor and wife Jocelyn, three loving sisters, Cecilia Cleary, Catherine Niemis and Lorraine Swagger. Sylvester was pre-deceased by his daughter Sharon. Also surviving is his dear pet dog, Waldo.Visiting hours will be Friday, February 28, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00-9:00 pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 1, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's RC Church, Butler. All other services will be private.
