Theresa Marie Wickham, nee DeKryger, 93, of Cedar Crest, formerly of Paterson and Kinnelon, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Born in Paterson, Terry was the daughter of Michael and Anne DeKryger. She graduated Eastside High School in 1944, and while still in high school started working as a bookkeeper for Joseph Brown and Company and continued working until 1954 as the office manager. Terry met Joe when he was her partner in a friends wedding. Two years later, Terry and Joe married at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Paterson. They were married 68 years on April 26, 2020. In 1956, Joe and Terry moved in to the house they built in Kinnelon, where they raised their six children. Being a city girl, she wanted a fence around the property to protect her children. When they moved to Cedar Crest 50 years later, she was still waiting for the fence. Terry was a devout member of Our Lady of the Magnificat in Kinnelon, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was active in the Rosary Altar Society, at one time being the president. She was instrumental in starting the library in the parish school, where she volunteered for many years. She was a proud member of St. Anthonys Columbiettes, where she helped with many projects and activities raising funds for their charitable works. She was also a big help to the Knights of Columbus, especially when Joe was Grand Knight. Terry was the Secretary/Treasurer of the family business, Wickham Vending, for 30 years. She enjoyed many cruises, especially fond of river cruises. Terry and Joe navigated their way through many rivers in the USA and across Europe. At home she enjoyed working in her garden, but was the happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. Terry is survived by her husband Joseph R., her children Joseph D. and his wife Debbie, in Oak Ridge, Regina Maloney and her husband Peter in Virginia, Paul and his wife Cyndi in Oregon, Tom and his wife Cheryl in Vernon, and Eileen Galley in Montville. Also surviving are her 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter Patricia, son-in-law Ken Galley, her sisters Katherine Wagner and Clarissa Maccanico and their spouses. Funeral services will be private.
