Theresa V. 'Terri' Benack

Theresa V. Benack, "Terri", age 77, of Toms River and formerly of Bloomingdale, NJ and Queens, NY entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 18, 2010. Mrs. Benack was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Ralph and Anna (Palaia) Di Domenico. Returning to the workforce in her 40's, she eventually retired as the Chief Financial Officer for West Milford Township, after successfully holding varied municipal positions there and in Bloomingdale. She was also active in St. Anthony's Parish in Butler, NJ where she served as a Euchristic Minister and a Lay Assoiate for the Franciscan Sisters of Peace. Among her many accomplishments, Terri was an active member of the Bloomingdale Democratic Club and the Municipal Finance Officers Association. She is survived by her beloved children, Teri Benack, Cathy Wanklin, Barbara Cavallaro, Diane Mullin, Virginia Rossi and Andrew Benack, her loving siblings, JoAnn McDonald and Philip DiDomenico, nine cherished grandchildren and two adored great grandchildren. Terri was pre-deceased by her dear son Ralph Benack. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 from 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 9pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral mass will be held Thursday 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, also on Bartholdi Avenue in Butler. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Terri.
