Thomas William Hammell, age 85, of Bloomingdale, NJ, died Friday, February 20, 2009.Mr. Hammell was born in Bloomingdale, NJ, the son of the late John and the late Elizabeth (Mooney) Hammell. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II, was a member of the George P. Siek Tri-Boro VFW Post # 8096, in Butler, NJ, the Bloomingdale Fire Department, for 35 years where he received several citations for saving lives, and was a parishioner of St. Anthony RC Church, also in Butler, NJ. He worked for E.I. DuPont, Pompton Lakes, NJ, as a carpenter for 30 years. He is survived by his devoted wife Marjorie (Wyble) for 65 loving years, his beloved daughter, Susan Benigno, and husband Peter Jr., a cherished grandson, Peter Benigno, a Loving brother and sister, James Hammell, and Lee Braun, and many nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be Sunday, February 22, 2009, from 2:00 -4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. The funeral service will be Monday, 11:00am also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
