Wallace Ernest Omodeo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, peacefully passed away at home on February 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Bronx, NY, on January 17, 1941, Wallace lived a life enriched by laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
A high school graduate, Wallace embarked on a career that was as diverse as his interests, having worked as a butcher and mechanic before retiring as a technician at Cablevision in Oakland, NJ. He was well-known for his quick wit and humor, making those around him smile and laugh. A true jokester at heart, Wallace brought joy wherever he went, often entertaining family and friends with his singing.
Throughout his life, Wallace cherished his wife, Carol, with whom he shared 62 loving years. Together, they forged a partnership filled with affection and support, raising a family imbued with the values of kindness and togetherness. Wallace's greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and loving pets. Whether it was sunbathing on a warm day or simply watching their playful antics. He delighted in being a part of their lives, fostering many cherished moments that will be remembered by all who knew him.
His proudest accomplishment, one that stands testament to his creativity and dedication, was building a classic Chevy coupe powered by a Pontiac bonneville motor that made its appearance in Hot Rod Magazine. This achievement encapsulated his passion for mechanics and showcased his remarkable skills.
Wallace is predeceased by his father, Ernest, and mother, Georgette Tomassi, who instilled in him the values that defined his character. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the stories that will be told for generations.
Visitation will be held on March 4, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:30 PM at The Morrison Etheridge Funeral Home, Inc., located at 86 Bartholdi Ave, Butler, NJ. In this time of grief, we remember Wallace not only for his accomplishments but also for the laughter and love he shared with all of us. His legacy will forever be a source of comfort and joy in our lives.
