Walter R Stanford

Walter R Stanford, age 84, of Kinnelon, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Stanford was born in Somerville, MA, the son of the late Ronald and the late Ethel (Hounsell) Stanford. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked as an Assistant Vice President for Insurance Service Office in New York City. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 loving years, Ann Lee "Annie" "Nancy" (Ryan) Stanford, his beloved children, Elizabeth Normann and husband Edward, Lee Ann Thompson and husband Ray, Mark Stanford and daughter in law Janice Stanford, his loving brother, Herbert Stanford, seven cherished grandchildren and eight adored great grandchildren. Walter also cherished many nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his dear son Stephen Stanford. Walter will always be remembered as a gentleman and a kind, generous man. He loved his music and enjoyed golfing with his friends and spending time on his computer. His greatest joy was his time with his wife Annie. They enjoyed many wonderful memories together and loved the life they shared together.Viewing hours will be Friday, August 15th , 2104 from 10am to 12:30pm at the Our Lady of Magnificat Ryan Room, 2 Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held Friday at 1pm also at Our Lady of Magnificat RC Church after the viewing. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
