Warren Henry Poppe of Bloomingdale passed away on December 6, 2016, at 80 years of age. Born in 1936 in Passaic, Warren was raised in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. He enlisted in the Army in 1954 , and was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne having completed paratrooper training at Fort Campbell. Warren was proud of his career as a Union Carpenter and a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 0124. He enjoyed collecting was an outdoorsman, loved nature and was an active member of the several veterans groups. In 1969, Warren moved to Bloomingdale with his wife Loretta (Zindt) who pre deceased him in 2007. He is survived by his only son Shawn Poppe and daughter in law Jo Anne of Vernon, his adored granddaughter Lauren, His brother Walter Poppe, who resides in Franklin Lakes and many adored nephews, nieces, neighbors and friends. Of note were his veteran brothers in the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter #170. Viewing hours will be Friday, December 9th,2016, from 4:00 to 8:00pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held Saturday, 10:00am also at the funeral home. A private burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst, NJ for immediate family only.
