Wayne Van Zile, 52, of Kinnelon, NJ, passed away on April 28, 2012. Wayne suffered the effects of quadriplegia for almost 32 years the result of the swimming pool accident. Kessler Institute in West Orange, the third hospital after the initial injury, taught him how to function as a quadriplegic and how to drive a special equipped van. He eventually obtained a vehicle and passed the test for a driver's license. He obtained his GED certificate and learned to use a computer. Wayne, with his outgoing personality, humor, positive outlook and belief in God had the unique ability, despite his own condition, of making people feel better about their own problems after a visit with him. Wayne will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Wayne is survived by his beloved mother Mary Riemer Van Zile of Kinnelon, his loving siblings, Thomas Van Zile and wife Jackie of Kinnelon, Brian Van Zile and wife Michele of Riverdale, and, Walter Van Zile Jr and wife Cara of Kinnelon and his niece Samantha Van Zile and nephew Zachary Van Zile, his loving aunts and uncles, William Riemer and his wife Elizabeth of Butler, Francis Riemer of Alabama, Russell Hannah of Kinnelon, Earl Van Zile of Mississippi, Mary Witty of Florida, Carrie Davenport of Butler, Edna Wright of Florida and Alice Struble of Kinnelon. Wayne was predeceased by his father Walter. Viewing hours will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 9 to 11 at the Morrison funeral home 86 Bartholdi Ave., Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home also on Thursday.
