William J Henry 1959 - 2015Born in Paterson NJ, William (Bill) grew up in Bloomingdale and Kinnelon NJ. He graduated from Kinnelon High School and attended Georgetown University in Washington DC. Following college he remained in the greater Washington DC area until his death May 11, 2015 of natural causes at home in Springfield VA.From his teens Bill was passionate about movies and writing, and became a film critic in the Washington DC area. While at Georgetown he began writing movie reviews for The Hoya, the university newspaper. He continued writing for the Hill Rag, a local area newspaper. Bill was a member of the DC Film Society and the Washington DC area Film Critics Association. He teamed up with fellow critic Joe Barber and started a website - dcmovieguys.com. Together Bill and Joe appeared on the "Derek McGinty" radio show, held monthly cinema discussions at bookstores and co-chaired the DC Film Society's annual Oscars party. He was employed by COX Communications as a project coordinator for residential and commercial communication services. Bill was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Arlington, VA. He is remembered by his family, his many friends and coworkers as loyal and hard working, with a big laugh and devoted to his family. He is survived by his parents Theresa and William E Henry Jr. of Vero Beach, FL, three siblings and their spouses: Laura and John Gallo, Theresa Henry and Rick Luhmann, and Steven Henry, and his nieces Theresa and Gwyneth Luhmann. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins across the country.A wake will be held on July 17 from 4:00 to 8:00pm in Morrison's Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on July 18, at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pompton Lakes NJ, followed by a burial service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bartholdi Avenue, Butler NJ.
