William Joseph 'Joe' Essing

William "Joe" Joseph Essing, age 77, of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Butler, NJ, died Monday, January 12, 2015. Mr. Essing was born in Butler, NJ the son of the late Joseph and the late Emma (Thomas) Essing. He was an International Sales Representative for Amerace Corp. in Butler, NJ before retiring. Joe was a member of the Kiel Hook and Ladder Co. of the Butler Fire Dept. for over 50 years, attaining rank of Fire Chief. He was also a member of the Butler Fireman's Exempt Association, the NJ State Fire Chiefs Association, NJ Forest Fire Service and served as secretary of the North Jersey Fireman's Association. Joe also loved to Hunt, fish and Golf. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 loving years, Patricia "Pat" (De Marco) Essing, his beloved children, William Joseph Essing Jr. and wife Rithy, Mark Essing and wife Regina and Amy Essing-Rasp and husband Bill, four cherished grandchildren, Meha, Bridget, Brian and Christopher and a special cousin, Sharon Gates and husband Scott. Viewing hours will be Friday, January 16th, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral service will be Held Saturday at 10am also at the funeral home. Burial will follow Mt. Rest Cemetery, Butler, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the NJ Fireman's Home, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 in his memory.
