William LeVern Wing, 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Nursing Home where he resided in West Milford, NJ. William was born and raised in Rochester, NY by William Frank and Loraine Erlyn Wing. William attended Geneseo College, majoring in Psychology. There he met his future wife Leone June Pollak, and enlisted in the Marine Corp Reserve, after which, he transferred to the Air Force, serving his tour of duty at Sampson AFB Flight 3230. William married Leone February 20, 1955. After leaving the military, William began a career in academia. In 1972, William moved his family from Northport, NY to West Milford, NJ, to facilitate his becoming Head Registrar at Fairleigh Dickinson University. During his career, William developed a keen interest in astrology, parapsychology, and paranormal phenomenon. Williams son and grandson's video drone club Astral Flight, was named as homage to William's research into Astral Projection. After leaving academia, William worked as a cost estimator, and retired working for the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development as a Career Path Counselor. After retirement, William and Leone traveled out West and became strong advocates of Native American rights, and Defenders of Wildlife. William is survived by his son Keith, daughter in law Kathy Gallo-Wing, residing in West Milford, grandson Alden Wing, granddaughter in law Priscilla Karnuth, soon to be residing in Olean, NY, and four great grandchildren. All services will be private.
