William M Bird

William M. Bird, age 71, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 4, 2020. He is the son of the late Virgil and Veronica Bird. Growing up Bill, known to his family as "Bud," resided in Riverdale and attended Kinnelon High School graduating in 1966. He enlisted in the Army in 1967 and served 2 tours in Vietnam with an honorable discharge in 1970. In 1971, Bill met the love of his life, Nancy, and they married in 1972 on Bills birthday. In September, they celebrated 47 years together. He began working at Wes Jones & Son where he became an electrician and later owned the business changing the name to WMB, Inc. In his free time Bill loved fishing, wood working, and riding his motorcycle. He is deeply missed by his wife, Nancy (Brooks) Bird; his beloved children Adam and his wife Denise, Jennifer and her husband, Dominic; his cherished grandchildren Morgan, Jack, Mackenzie, and Sarah; his siblings, Patricia, Susan, Nancy, Keith and his wife Monique; as well as many nieces and nephews. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic memorial services cannot be held at this time. The family will be planning services and a celebration of life within the next few months and will post the details once arrangements have been made.
