Zachary T. Sprau

Obituary of Zachary Taylor Sprau Zachary Sprau, 24, of Kinnelon, NJ, passed away on Wednesday January 4, 2017 in Panama City, Florida. He lived all of his young life in Kinnelon, NJ and was a 2010 graduate of Seton Hall Preparatory School. He continued his education at Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science. Sports came early for Zach, he started with the Kinnelon Colts Hockey Team and the Kinnelon Youth Lacrosse Team as a first grader and then on to the New Jersey Colonials Hockey Club. While at Seton Hall Preparatory School, Zach was on the lacrosse and ice hockey teams and his college preparatory classes served him well when he moved to Alabama to lead the Auburn Tigers Club Lacrosse Team where he served as Team Captain. WAR EAGLE! Earning his degree at Auburn was a true highlight in his life and made his entire family proud. After college, he immediately landed with the Stryker Corporation where Zach assumed the demanding responsibilities of an Orthopedic Sales Representative where he would instruct surgeons on the proper installation of replacement hips and knees inside the OR. Nothing could prepare his family for some of his "action shots" he often sent from the OR depicting the various surgeries he participated in. Zachary left this world a better place with his personality, smile, sincerity and zest for life. It was impossible to get Zach down; he would dig himself out of any situation and come out stronger than before while learning a new lesson in life. Zach was the beloved son of Robert Sprau and Vilma & Paul Kaufmann and a brother to Olivia. He leaves behind a loving family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom love him dearly. Family and friends are invited for visitation at the Morrison Funeral Home, 86 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ on Friday, January 13th from 4 - 8 pm. A Mass celebrating Zachs life will be held at Our Lady of the Magnificat Church, Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ on Saturday, January 14th at 11:00 am.
