Zana P Ball

Zana Platz Ball, 83 years old of Riverdale, passed away peacefully at home on October 3rd surrounded by family. Born in Montclair, NJ on September 29, 1938, she grew up in Lebanon, PA and Bloomfield, NJ before moving to Bloomingdale. She resided in Bloomingdale for 45 years before moving to Riverdale. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Marion (Zinn) and Elmer Platz, her husband, Schuyler (Sky), a daughter, Linda, and her sister, Naomi. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Pristas and husband Clifford of Hillsborough, a son, Edward and wife Raimee of Bloomingdale, a brother Elmer Platz and wife Diane of Vernon, and three grandchildren, Edward of Riverdale, Brian and wife Briana of Sykesville, MD, and Jasmine Pristas of Hillsborough. Zana enjoyed traveling, including her annual vacation to Ocean Beach, NJ, where she loved watching the sunrise, walking the beach looking for shells and sea glass, and watching the waves. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren playing board games, doing puzzles, and watching Saturday morning cartoons. She loved dogs, especially her late Cocker Spaniels, Daisy and Holly. Zana rarely missed her morning coffee clutch originally at Pros Luncheonette and later at Dunkin, where she gathered with good friends. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, 11:00 am at Pompton Lakes Reformed Church, 59 Hamburg Turnpike, Pompton Lakes, NJ. All other services will be private.
